Many sources state that Cullinan House is the only remaining example of the Art Nouveau style in Johannesburg. It was built in 1910 by Sir Thomas Cullinan (of Diamond fame) for his brother-in-law Mr Joseph Mitchell. The architects were Robert Howden and Arthur James Stewart.
