36 Houghton Drive Houghton Estate

Designed in 1919, this is one of a pair of buildings (Stands 1123 and 1125) with fine craftsmanship in the Arts and Crafts manner, attributed to the architect Piercy Patrick Eagle and commissioned by the original owner P.W. McKie. A Transvaal Government Architect from 1904-1920, Eagle designed public buildings including Jeppe Boys High School and King Edward VII High School.
