Know Your Heritage Status

Is your property a declared heritage site, provisionally declared heritage site, older than sixty years or part of a conservation area? If yes you need to follow specific processes set out in the National Heritage Resources Act before you can alter or demolish any structures or parts of any structures. Use The Heritage Register to find out your property's heritage status and what you need to do if any of the heritage flags are raised.

Has your property been rated as significant by a heritage organisation? Once again, use The Heritage Register to find out and remember to consult the organisation in question.

If you need assistance once a flag has been raised you can use The Heritage Register to find a professional to guide you through the specific processes.

If your property is not listed on The Heritage Register yet, contact a professional to see if any processes apply.
